Kings Day - Koningsdag

History of King’s Day (and Queen’s Day)

Amsterdam celebrated King’s Day (Koningsdag) for the first time in 2014, after the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander on 30 April 2013 (what was then still Queen’s Day).

The royal celebrations were first held on 31 August 1885 in honour of the birth of Queen Wilhelmina, and the Queen’s Day (Koninginnedag) tradition was born. After Wilhelmina’s daughter (Juliana) succeeded to the throne in 1949, the day was changed to 30 April in accordance with the new Queen’s birthday.

When she became queen, the now Princess Beatrix chose to retain the day in honour of her mother but as of 2014, King’s Day is officially celebrated on 27 April (the king’s birthday).

The name may have changed slightly but the festive spirit of the day is sure to remain! You’ll be treated to a sea of orange as everyone – and their pet – is covered head to toe in oranje (orange) as a show of pride for the Dutch Royal family, the House of Orange-Nassau.

Every year, the royal entourage visits a town or municipality in the Netherlands as part of the celebrations.

The ACDB-987 makes it even easier to switch from shooting with your DSLR or Mirrorless camera body to shooting with your digital back, while adding additional movements that you come to expect from a larger view camera, while not adding much additional size to the Actus you already know and love.

WRS-HV – WRS Lenspanel for Hasselblad V Lenses

Coming later this month, the WRS-HV lens plate allows you to mount lenses from the Hasselblad-500 series, in combination with the WRS series camera.

This combination will work with those digital backs that have an electronic shutter option, which works as a shutterless digital back, such as the PhaseOne IQ3-100 and the new IQ-4 series.

The aperture of the lenses can be set manually. The WRS-HV does not cock or fire the lens’ leaf shutter.
The practical use of lenses may be limited to those that have enough image circle coverage for the used digital back when using shifts.

The availability of Hasselblad lenses of the 500 series goes back a long time and this also gives you the opportunity to use particular old style legacy lenses, as well as very long focal lengths without the extreme physical extension of symmetric LF lenses.

    Hasselblad lens not included.

Cambo Actus Rear & Base Tilt Adaptors

Cambo is expanding the ACTUS series with an optional BASE TILT Function. Often our more experienced view camera users ask how to get the most movements out of the Actus system. Previously we would have recommended the Actus XL for those who needed more control, but that option resulted in a much larger camera system. We are happy to announce that these movements are now achievable on a standard Actus for those who need them.

Cambo has designed a tilting unit that can be mounted between the existing standard and the monorail. The tilt unit offers up to 15 degrees of forward and backward tilt, in increments of 5 degrees, while keeping both standards exactly parallel.

Once the desired amount of tilt has been achieved these adaptors lock into place to stop any unintended movements.

Customers have three different options to choose from when wanting to add these movements:

    AC-371  – Rear Base Tilt:

The AC-371 kit consists of a rear base tilt unit and a dedicated spacer under the front assembly to match the correct height change.
The rear base unit can be set each 5 degrees up-to 15 degrees to each side. The lock is applied in a grid pattern, so the standard is locked into position.
    Additional weight:          0,26 kg
    Additional height:          20 mm
    Additional focus draw: 42 mm
    Rear base tilt:        +15 / -15 degrees
    Increments:        each 5 degrees.

    AC-373 Dual Base Tilt:

AC-373 adds an extra base tilt adjustment to your Actus camera’s front and rear standards. The rear base tilt unit mounts between the rear standard focusing unit and the monorail, and in addition to the added tilt allows for an extra layer of sliding focus too.
The front base tilt unit mounts with 4 screws between the front standard and the monorail.
AC-373 gives you additional freedom of movements in applying technical camera settings. next to that, you can set indirect vertical movements by applying base tilt to both standard, increasing more vertical shift when your optics allow for that. The AC-373 kit consists of a rear base tilt unit and a front base tilt unit under the front assembly to match the correct height change
    Additional weight:          0,28 kg
    Additional height:          20 mm
    Additional focus draw: 42 mm
    Rear base tilt:        +15 / -15 degrees
    Front base tilt:        +15 / -15 degrees
    Increments:        each 5 degrees.

    AC-375 Full Base Tilt:

AC-375 adds an extra base tilt adjustment to your Actus camera’s front and rear standards, as well as to the Tripod Mount.

The rear base tilt unit mounts between the rear standard focussing unit and the monorail, and makes an extra layer of sliding focus too.
The front base tilt unit mounts with 4 screws between the front standard and the monorail.
The tripod base tilt unit mounts to the bottom of the monorail and can slide along the full monorail length.
AC-375 gives you additional freedom of movements in applying technical camera settings. Next to that, you can set indirect vertical movements by applying base tilt to both standard, increasing more vertical shift when your optics allow for that. By simultaneously applying tilt to the tripod mount, you can keep your standards parallel and perpendicular with an inclined monorail. Ideal for yaw-free swing applications.
    Additional weight AC-375:             0,48 kg
Additional height front and rear : 20 mm
Additional height tripod mount:  35 mm
Additional focus draw rear unit:    42 mm
    Rear base tilt:        +15 / -15 degrees
    Front base tilt:        +15 / -15 degrees
    Tripod base tilt:        +15 / -15 degrees
    Increments:        each 5 degrees.

These optional additions to the Actus camera system are available now from your favorite Cambo USA dealer! For a list of dealer contact info, or to find the dealer closest to you please visit Cambousa.com/dealers for more information!

    Cambo HV-GFX & HV-XCD – Lens Adaptors

The HV-GFX and HV-XCD are the first in a line of traditional adapters allowing for  legacy lenses to be used on mirrorless medium format bodies with electronic shutter capabilities. These lens adapters allow for the mounting of Hasselblad-C lenses in combination with the Fujifilm GFX or Hasselblad X1D camera bodies.

The renderings below are design prototypes and may not reflect the final fit and finish of the HV-GFX/HV-XCD:

    Technical Details:
    Total Height: 90mm
    Total Width: 120mm
    Weight: 295 grams

As there are no electronic connections between the lens and camera body, focus and aperture must be controlled manually on the lens itself and no metadata will be transmitted.

In the case of the X1D, without a mechanical shutter, there are limitations in use with certain light sources, exposure times and subjects. We refer to Hasselblad for additional information about their electronic shutter.

Pricing, Availability, and Shipping information will be available soon. For more information please contact Cambo USA or your local Cambo dealer.
